House of Embroidery is a young and dynamic company that produces multi-coloured hand-dyed perle, rayon, stranded (mouline) and silk embroidery threads as well as colour co-ordinated hand-dyed silk ribbons. Currently the majority of House of Embroidery’s hand-dyed cotton threads, silk threads and silk ribbons are exported, principally to Europe, Australia and America. Based in South Africa, House of Embroidery is a eleven year-old enterprise comprising of twelve dedicated employees and is a fair trade company.

House of Embroidery hand-dyed multi-coloured threads are created from imported European cotton threads and Japanese silk threads and silk ribbons. These cotton threads, silk threads and silk ribbons are then hand-dyed in South Africa using European dyes. The result is an exquisite colour range of high quality multi-coloured threads and ribbons. All of House of Embroidery’s cotton and silk threads as well as our silk ribbons are light-fast, colour-fast and wash-fast. Currently House of Embroidery’s product range encompasses four thread varieties. Namely; perle No. 8 and No.5 rayon, silk and stranded (mouline) threads. The aforementioned threads are also complemented by silk ribbons. All House of Embroidery hand-dyed, multi-coloured threads are colour co-ordinated and can either be used as the dominant feature in your embroidery or can serve as a medium to accent small embroidery detail. Try combining two different hand-dyed fibres or combining one hand-dyed fibre with traditional floss, metallic or silk thread. House of Embroidery hand-dyed threads can be used effectively with a wide variety of alternative fibres. The variety of exciting colours offered in the House of Embroidery range encourage you to experiment and be creative.
